Joanna Greer has been teaching for 12 years at John F. Kennedy High School. A West Virginia native, she has a B.A. from the University of Maryland and a Masters of Education from Notre Dame of Maryland University.
She began teaching English at Kennedy, but now she teaches television production and journalism. Currently, she is working on a Certificate in Documentary Studies from the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University.
She has three kids and a Jack Russell named Sam, and loves working with audio, making funny videos and puppetry. She still believes in reading several newspapers a day and tries to instill that love in her students. Kennedy's Student Reporting Lab has just finished their second year in the program and looks forward to another exciting year of reporting and learning new software used better tell their stories.
