Joanna Greer will begin her 12th year teaching at John F. Kennedy High School in fall 2013.
A West Virginia native, she has a BA from the University of Maryland and a Masters of Education from Notre Dame of Maryland University. She began teaching English at Kennedy but now she teaches television production and journalism.
Currently, she is working on a Certificate in Documentary Studies from the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University.
She has three kids and a Jack Russell named Sam and loves working with audio, making funny videos and puppetry. She still believes in reading several newspapers a day and tries to instill that love in her students.
Kennedy's SRL has just finished their second year in the program and looks forward to another exciting year of reporting and learning new software to better tell their stories.
