Fraser High School Reporting Lab wins student television award

Fraser High School, Fraser, MI

The Michigan Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has announced that two student reporting teams from Fraser High School have won the prestigious Michigan High School Student Television Awards for Excellence.

One of the winning videos, which investigates why students drop out of school, came out of the Student Reporting Labs program and its focus on the high school dropout crisis in partnership with the American Graduate initiative.

The student team of David Corbat, Jason Hartless, Michael Hallberg, Joseph Pokorney and Michael Adamo pictured above interviewed students, administrators and Wayne County Sherriff Benny Napoleon to get perspectives on how dropping out of school can affect students later in life.

The students' winning video, which can be seen here, will be recognized on the NATAS website and featured at the Fraser School Board Meeting on May 7.

Congratulations to all the winners!
